Year 4 pupils learn about the historic Cambridge vs. Oxford boat race
Earlier in March, Year 4 visited the Goldie Boat House on the River Cam to learn about the history of the famous Cambridge vs. Oxford Boat Race. The girls loved hearing the story of how John Goldie, president of the Boat Club, decided that a Boat House needed to be built in 1869 to help his Cambridge team win the race after years of disappointment. Pupils also enjoyed having a go on the indoor rowing machine and it was fantastic to hear that we might have some budding rowers in the year group!
