Art Technician
Start Date: Tuesday 1 September 2026
Full-time, term-time only (job share considered for the right candidates)
Salary: £23,000 (35 weeks per annum - term-time only)

St Mary’s School, Cambridge is seeking to appoint an organised, creative and enthusiastic Art Technician to support our successful and thriving Art & Design department.
Art and creativity are central to life at St Mary’s, and our dedicated art centre provides students with inspiring opportunities to explore and develop their skills across a wide range of artistic mediums. Art & Design is a popular subject with excellent GCSE and A Level outcomes, and many students continue to study creative disciplines at leading universities and art schools.
Reporting to the Head of Art & Design and working closely with teaching staff, the Art Technician will support the day-to-day running of the department and contribute to both curriculum delivery and the wider creative life of the school.
This practical and varied role includes preparing and maintaining studios and equipment and organising materials and displays. The successful candidate will support exhibitions and events assist students during lessons and enrichment activities and help to ensure the safe and effective use of specialist facilities and resources.
The successful candidate will have:
Experience supporting practical creative work, ideally within education or a comparable setting
Strong organisational and communication skills
Confidence using digital systems including Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud
Practical knowledge across a range of artistic processes and techniques
Enthusiasm for supporting young people’s creativity and artistic development
Experience in photography, printmaking, ceramics, exhibitions or visual communications would be advantageous.

Visiting Music Teacher – Piano
Permanent | Part-time (approx. 9 hours per week) | £55 per hour (self-employed)

Reporting to: Director of Music
We are seeking an outstanding Visiting Music Piano Teacher to join our vibrant and successful Music Department at St Mary’s School, Cambridge from September 2026.
The successful candidate will teach piano to students from Year 7 to 13 at our Senior School site. They will work with pupils of all abilities, from beginners to advanced performers, supporting the development of strong technical and musical skills. The ability to prepare students for ABRSM (or similar) examinations, as well as GCSE and A Level performance components, is essential.
Our dynamic and collaborative Music Department delivers excellent outcomes and offers a rich co-curricular programme. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced piano teacher with outstanding performing ability and a passion for inspiring young musicians. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, strong organisational ability and a commitment to contributing to the wider musical life of the school.
This is a self-employed role with individual lessons invoiced directly to parents. While the timetable initially offers approximately one and a half a days of teaching, there is scope for the role to grow.

We are seeking an outstanding Visiting Music Cello Teacher to join our vibrant and successful Music Department at St Mary’s School, Cambridge from September 2026.
The successful candidate will teach cello to students across Years 1–13 at both our Junior and Senior School sites. They will work with pupils of all abilities, from beginners to advanced performers, supporting the development of strong technical and musical skills.
