Latin ‘clarity and expressiveness’
A number of Year 8 students took part in the Cambridge Classical Association’s Junior Latin Reading competition on Thursday 15 March. Several local schools took part in this year’s event and the standard in all categories was extremely high.
Maryam G. and Emma G. both entered the Prose Reading category and, out of 11, Emma was given a highly commended award and Maryam placed second. The judges commented on the clarity and expressiveness of the girls’ reading, particularly on their ability to convey the story through tone and different voices.
Out of four entries, our team of girls who entered the Play Reading category was awarded first place. The judges appreciated the girls’ accurate pronunciation and commended their ability to work in a team.
Congratulations to all of the girls who took part: your hard work has paid off!
