International Committee's virtual postcard to Melbourne sister school
In the spirit of one global community, our International Committee have created a film to send back to a fellow Mary Ward school in Melbourne, Australia.
As part of the virtual trips for International Women's Day, Loreto Mandeville Toorak School in Melbourne, Australia sent a video message to our girls in Year 10 as part of their trip - which was a real insight into life at their school.
As a result, our International Committee decided to create a film to send back in a virtual exchange, especially as we have been unable to host our regular Australian exchange programme this year.
Consisting of a wide range of students across age groups, the International Committee has always worked hard to raise awareness of issues of personal interest to international students, as well as of global issues of importance to the whole of the student body. International Coordinator, Ms Emily Dutton, said of the film:
"The girls in our International Committee worked very hard to create a film to send to their Australian counterparts. I think the finished film not only captures the spirit of St Mary's School, Cambridge, but has also reinforced how important it is to be part of the wider network of Loreto Schools which provides our girls with a truly global education through our historic connections in an ever-changing modern world."
The committee filmed all areas of the school and interviewing a range of students and Headmistress Ms Avery to capture a sense of what it is to be a St Mary's girl here in Cambridge.
You can see their film here, well done girls:
