Fine Art students explore landscapes
Year 12 Fine Art A Level students have been investigating and analysing the genre of ‘expressive and emotive’ landscape artwork. The students have created a series of paintings in response to artists such as Scott Naismith, JMW Turner, Patricia Sadler, Philip Gray and Ken Bushe and were encouraged to express intense feelings through landscapes in order for viewers to feel the atmosphere of the environment.
The students have worked on distilling the detail from scenery whilst also leaving enough information present for viewers to recognise key elements of a landscape composition. Miss Conroy, Head of Art, proudly informed me that the students tackled the challenge with gusto to produce some excellent results.
