Chamber Music choir success
The annual Chamber Music Concert is always a highlight of our musical calendar which, this year, was hosted at the beautiful Emmanuel United Reformed Church on Tuesday 27 March.
The evening featured performances from all of our smaller chamber ensembles: chamber choir Allegro, two string quartets, two flute choirs - Tutti Flutti and Tutti Flutti Too - clarinet ensemble Reed all About it, and a new piano duo. Two very talented soloists also performed: Issy H., Year 10 Music GCSE student and winner of the Intermediate Class of our Young Pianist of the Year competition performed on the piano, and our Music Captain, Upper Sixth student Henrietta M., who won our Young Musician of the Year competition back in November, performed on the violin.
Audience members commented on the exceptionally high standard of the performances as well as the broad range of repertoire - a lovely balance of sacred, classical, modern, profound and humorous. Many thanks to the wonderful peripatetic teachers, to Henrietta and Mrs Emma Fisher for preparing such an enjoyable programme, and to Mrs Sonia Gears for all her practical and logistical support. A fantastic evening was had by all!
