Zheng He

On Monday morning the Junior School welcomed Dr Church, a fellow of Wolfson College, to speak during whole school assembly. Dr Church spoke to the girls about a famous Chinese explorer named Zheng He, who travelled across the oceans in the 15th century and brought back many exotic animals to China. He also developed diplomatic and trade relations with other countries. The talk was fascinating and provided the perfect complement to the girls’ learning, in their Mandarin lessons, about China. Many thanks to Mrs Huang for organising the assembly – and we look forward to this evening’s presentation by Dr Church for parents.
