Young swimmer breaks records
Year 7 student, Matilda R., has been a keen swimmer for a number of years and so it brings us great pleasure to hear that she has started the competitive season with some strong wins.
Last October, Matilda visited Sheffield to take part in the Lincoln Vulcans Swimming Club (LVSC) Long Course Level 1 meet and finished top in her category, beating some strong competitors. Later on in the winter, Matilda took part in the Cambridge Grand Prix and the December Sprint in Newmarket - taking the position of top girl at both.
Matilda also broke records in 2017: beating the county age 11 records in both 100m and 200m butterfly, which had previously stood for over 10 years retrospectively. Now in 2018, the initial weekends of “counties” have just started and Matilda has impressively become champion in numerous categories for her age already: 400m freestyle, 400m individual medley (currently ranked number six in Britain), 200m butterfly (currently ranked number eight in Britain) and 100m butterfly. Congratulations to Matilda on an exciting start to 2018!
