Year 9 create Zentangle art
Year 9 have been creating Zentangle art in response to the work of Kerby Rosanes, an illustrator based in the Philippines. As part of their investigation into ‘Natural and Artificial Objects’, Year 9 have studied natural forms and within this framework created a zentangle shell illustration using gel pens.
The Zentangle Method is a relaxing and enjoyable way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. We call these patterns 'tangles'. Zentangle is also a self-help art therapy practice that aims to enhance relaxation and focus. Kerby Rosanes considers art his personal hobby, and enjoys the links his illustrations have with mindfulness and the joy that ‘zentangling’ can bring.
