The girls finished top of their pool after beating Peterborough, St Bede’s, Peterborough 2 and drawing with Sawtry Village Academy. The team met Cambourne in the semi-final and with some impressive passages of play progressed to the final against Cromwell. During the day play Arianna F. and Sarah H. proved to be a lethal shooting combination with excellent movement within the circle and accurate shooting. Mid court players Mariella R., Sophia D. and Cecilia V.-F. worked hard and made some impressive leads and drives down the court. In defence Lara. M stretch over the ball was impressive as was Honor C.’s ability to read the play and anticipate passes into the goal circle, which she managed to pick off with ease. The final was a close match with the girls holding on to be crowned the Year 7 Netball Summer Games Festival Champions!
