Year 7 Day of Reflection
Each year students from every year group enjoy one day off timetable to consider matters of spiritual and ethical importance, to work in groups with their peers and to learn about the world in a context different to the classroom. It gives the students an opportunity to relax and reflect, through focusing on a particular thought-provoking theme. Year 7 students had their first such Day of Reflection on Monday 18 September, and the day focused on getting to know new people and considering special things, places and people. The themes are explored through discussion, games, music, drama, guided reflection and meditation, and there are opportunities for prayer and liturgy. The girls also reflected on listening and on friendship. The afternoon took the form of an extended liturgy based around the Eucharist. As part of this, students become very engaged in writing letters to their future selves about their hopes and wishes, which are returned to them to read in Sixth Form.
