Year 7 and Year 9 induction day
On Tuesday 20 June we welcomed into the Senior School the Year 6 pupils who will be joining us as Year 7 students in September, and also a group of students who will be joining us as Year 9 students. It was such a positive day for all involved – incoming and current students alike, and all of the staff members involved. The new-comers all enjoyed themselves and the current students who acted as buddies did us proud. The new Year 9 students attended normal lessons with their buddies, and even experienced their first fire drill, and it was reassuring for the girls to meet new friends and get a taste of the school before their first day proper in September. The incoming Year 7 enjoyed a full programme of activities tailored to helping them to feel more familiar with the Senior School surroundings – and excited for the sort of lessons and extra-curricular activities they will undertake here. The girls had a great time: they spent the day in their form groups, got to know their form tutors and experience a range of lessons. The Sixth Form prefect team met the girls and played games before the official start of school and also organised some House activities over lunchtime – so thank you to current Senior School students, and staff, for organising such a successful induction day for both sets of students.
