Year 6 visit Imperial War Museum Duxford to learn about the Second World War
On Wednesday, Year 6 visited Imperial War Museum Duxford to bring their topic of the Second World War to life. The students loved seeing the the aircrafts and other equipment used in the war, including an exhibition of iconic Spitfire planes, and learning new insights from the museum staff.
The girls enjoyed an interactive challenge, becoming documentary makers for the day and creating their own films, discussing and showcasing artefacts from the Battle of Britain. They spoke with and interviewed a number of museum staff, who commented on the great knowledge, politeness and behaviour of our girls. Some even got to go behind the ropes and barriers to get a close-up of the artefacts on show, and the girls reported that walking through a Concorde was a particular highlight.
We are proud to report that the girls showed exceptional enthusiasm and gratitude and were an asset to our school. Find out how the Junior School can bring your daughter's learning to life here.
