Year 6 pupils learn about natural disasters
This term Year 6 pupils have been learning about natural disasters and the girls were delighted to hear a talk by Mr R. – geo-physicist, and father of two of our Year 6 pupils. Using Google Earth, Mr R. showed the girls locations of earthquakes and explained the different causes, which were dependent on the fault lines they occurred on. He also spoke about how earthquakes can cause tsunamis, and how a tsunami was different from high waves caused by storms. The girls were all fascinated by the talk and posed some interesting questions at the end. Thank you to Mr R. for taking the time to come into school to share his experience with the pupils.
