Year 6 become UK champions at RoboCupJunior Primary CoSpace final
Following on from our successes at the RoboCupJunior Euro 2019 Robotics Championships last weekend, 15 of our Year 6 girls competed in the RoboCupJunior UK National Primary CoSpace Finals on Wednesday 26 June.
After a very full day, including an unseen Technical Challenge, Technical Interviews, Poster Presentations and a nerve-wracking series of competition rounds, we were delighted to discover that two of our teams would be competing against each other in the Grand Final. After a very tense match to decide the final positions, our team ‘E&E’ were crowned as UK National Primary CoSpace Champions with ‘Tigers’ finishing a very close second.
During the Closing Ceremony, these two teams were awarded engraved cut glass trophies and certificates. Our teams were also awarded the Innovative Programming Award, the Best Technical Interview Award, Best Teamwork Award, the Endeavour Award, the Best Poster Award and also a Highly Commended Poster Award.
The girls showed real determination and perseverance throughout the competition and received many positive comments from the organisers and volunteers. They were particularly praised for their sporting attitude and enthusiasm.
