Year 6 battle the Perse in cricket match
On Wednesday 19 June the Year 6 cricket team competed in a hard fought match against Perse Prep. In wet and slippery conditions, the girls played paired cricket where everyone bowled an over and then had two overs each when batting.
The team fielded first with captain Alice K. placing her team in an attacking formation. Ester H. proved to be a reliable wicketkeeper in the opening over. Imogen S and Emily B. bowled a good line and length managing a wicket each. Harriet C., Leonie H., Rosie J. and Olivia H. were good in the outfield, moving in with the bowler and backing each other up.
The girls batted well with Freya C. opening her innings with a well-timed cover drive just stooping short of the boundary line due to a slow outfield. Elanaz M. also batted well hitting a sweep shot to collect 2 runs. Player of the match went to Alice C. who did all she could in the final over by hitting a boundary. The girls narrowly went down by 9 runs.
