Year 5 triumph in netball tournament hosted at St Faith's
On Tuesday 26 March the Year 5 A and B teams competed in a round robin style tournament hosted by St Faith’s. The A team girls played extremely well though out the tournament, gelling nicely as a team and developing some impressive combinations. The girls won all four of their matches which were against Kimbolton (4-2), St Faith’s (3-1), King’s (5-2) and Sancton Wood (13-0). Anna H was on fire in the shooting circle supported nicely by Eilidh H. The defensive effort was dominated with Anna T and Natasha T producing a number of well-timed intercepts. Greta C used her electric speed to find space down the court and accurately feed the circle. Isla S showed her versatility making the transition from defence to attack with ease. Phoebe T and Nina L worked well in the mid court with some strong passes. The girls improved each match and linked cohesively as a team. Greta was awarded a prize for finding the correct space down the court.
The B team worked extremely hard throughout the tournament building their confidence in both attack and defence. The girls were able to adapt and play a number of different positions showing their growing understanding of the game. The girls had two closely fought games, improving their team cohesion and finished the afternoon with a well deserved win. Well done to the following girls - Phoebe H, Brooke F, Tess F, Kierat G, Emily S, Enrica R, Emily H, Sissi H and Emma H.
