Year 5 girls visit Green Britain Centre
On a recent visit to the Green Britain Centre, in Swaffham, the Year 5 girls learnt about renewable energy and looked at the rise of solar farms and wind farms in East Anglia. The highlight of the trip was climbing the 305 steps to the top of a working wind turbine! Year 5 has been fundraising this year for a water tank for a Ugandan village. The girls had hoped to raise £500, for one water tank, but managed to raise £900! The PTA was so impressed that they gave the girls a further donation of £100, so that two water tanks could be paid for. The charity has sent the group links to short videos about the construction of the water tanks, which you can view here and here, and Miss Agata Wygnanska will be visiting the area and meeting the families when she visits Uganda at the end of July.
