Year 5 fuel their interest in a career in STEM
In careers week, many of the girls in Year 5 expressed their interest in working in the STEM field, from being computer programmers to doctors to engineers. Year 5 were lucky enough to start this week a STEM skills day, to which the girls unsurprisingly gave their all.
In previous Science lessons, the girls had looked at how mechanisms, levers and pulleys work - you may remember their brilliant Rube Goldbery machines they created!
Using K-Nex, the girls created functioning crank fans and weighing scales and, using technical language, described how they worked.
These activities further fuelled the girls passion for working in the STEM field, and they had great fun doing it too!
