Year 1 learn a new song in their Mandarin lesson
Recently, girls in Year 1 learned a new song in their Mandarin lesson. It was a song about a rabbit and the picture shows the girls singing the song wearing their rabbit masks.
Our Year 1 girls have been reading a story about Stanley who found a stick and imagined it to be all sorts of amazing things. The girls found sticks and then pretended they were magic wands, pencils, even musical instruments. It was great fun telling stories afterwards about the stick's adventures.
St Mary's Junior School was recently named one of the best places for students to learn Mandarin in the UK and has one of the best Mandarin teachers in the country. That’s the opinion of the judges of this year’s UK National Competition held by the UK Association for the Promotion of Chinese Education (UKAPCE).
