Yanning develops banking experience
Yanning G. has just completed her Sixth Form experience at St Mary’s School, Cambridge, and this summer has celebrated an impressive clutch of A Level results, achieving A* grades in Mathematics and Further Mathematics, and A grades in Economics and Chemistry. Yanning is now delighted to be heading to her first choice university, Imperial College London, to read Mathematics.
Over the summer break, Yanning has spent her time gaining invaluable experience in China Development Bank in the Marketing and Investment Department, helping to write reports and specification for financial products for the state-backed development finance institution.
Yanning reflected on her experience at the bank: “I've already learnt a lot from my days here, and I believe that my experience will have a very positive impact on me in the future”. In previous holidays Yanning has spent time on many other work experience placements, including the school’s annual Lourdes pilgrimage; volunteering in Tenerife in a conservation area for dolphins and whales; at the University of Cambridge Faculty of Education, where Yanning assisted with a Psychology project by analysing research data; and at the BSA (Boarding Schools Association) where she helped to produce a report about event bookings online.
Congratulations to Yanning on her fantastic A Level results and on having invested valuable time in such a broad range of work experience placements – we are certain she will hit the ground running at Imperial College London and we look forward to hearing how she gets on.
