World Book Day brings virtual fun, giggles and literary inspiration
Every year we celebrate World Book Day and our love of reading in our Junior School. This year was a little different - but still brilliant!
Girls in Year 6 joined a remote live lesson with Helen Rutter, author of 'The Boy Who Made Everyone Laugh'. In a fun, interactive lesson Helen shared her top tips on 'how to write funny' - raising lots of smiles along the way.
Lauren A. Year 6 pupil commented: "I loved the lesson with Helen Rutter. It was very inspiring and she shared ideas on how to make people laugh in your writing. It made me think that being a famous author would be really good fun."
In previous years, World Book Day has always been celebrated in style, with girls embracing the opportunity to get creative with their costumes. In true resilient spirit, 2021 was no different, with lots of girls enjoying dressing up as characters from their favourite stories at home.
