Winter League rowing
On Sunday 6 March our Sixth Form rowing crew participated in the third leg of the Winter League race. The race offered great opportunity for the girls to practise for the upcoming Schools Head race on Thursday 17 March, and also to prepare those who are considering rowing at university. The girls thought carefully about their technique whilst also trying to find the ’red line’ – the point athletes push themselves to, to reach their personal limits. The girls kept similar times to the crews around them, and the race provided the team the chance to establish a rhythm that will be sustainable over a longer course, rather than rushing to the finish.
The crew has only one more practice outing before the Schools Head Race and the girls are hoping for a benign Tideway river on the day. Watch this space to find out how they get on.
