When You Wish Upon a Star – Junior School Summer Concert returns

On 20 May the Junior School held their first Summer Concert since 2019. After weeks of rehearsals, filling the school with song, finally West Road Concert Hall was brought to life by our Disney themed concert. What better way to mark the momentous return of our Summer Concert than to draw from the empowering, uplifting and culturally diverse repertoire of Disney, as students performed much-loved songs from Moana, Brave, Aladdin, Encanto, Frozen, Pinocchio, and Hercules. This was a terrific night that brought together the whole Junior School community.

The concert showcased the brilliant musicians of our Junior School, some as young as 3 years old, through a range of different musical perfromances. It featured 6 choirs, including Allargando, Bella Voce, Pre-Prep Choir, our Year 3 and 4 Full Choir and our year 5 and 6 Full Choir and our Whole School Choir, and 4 ensembles, including Recorder Ensemble, String Ensemble, Guitar Ensemble and Wind Ensemble. The audience was even treated to a special solo piano performance by our Junior School Musician of the Year, Liana C. in Year 6.

We'd like to thank all the staff, students and parents who helped make this evening so special. Watch this space for professional photos, and we will also circulate video footage to parents over the coming weeks. The finale was a particular highlight, as the whole school joined together to sing We’re All in This Together, with Mr Richards on the drum kit and a spectacular accompanying sequence by our Year 5 and 6 gymnasts.
