Visit to the Museum of Classical Archaeology in Cambridge
On Tuesday 3 May Miss Rebecca Dunn, Head of Classics, took Upper Sixth Classical Civilisation students to visit the Museum of Classical Archaeology in Cambridge. The girls have been studying classical Greek art and architecture this year, and were highly interested to have a chance to view casts of the art work they have been studying. They particularly appreciated the chance to see the architectural sculpture, such as a pediment from Corfu depicting Medusa, and the visit helped them to appreciate the varied scale of the art work, as well as recognise the styles of different time periods and the skills of different sculptors.
