The greatly anticipated Year 4 trip
The greatly anticipated Year 4 trip to Burwell House took place at the end of the first half of the Summer Term. Burwell House, in Cambridgeshire, was built in the late 18th century and retains the atmosphere of a large family home set in stunning grounds. The venue offers a wide variety of activities, as part of residential and non-residential retreats, and the girls thoroughly enjoyed spending the day in this beautiful location.
During the day pupils had the chance to create a news broadcast in a professional studio environment, learn the meaning of teamwork by completing complicated team tasks, play in a small pond while looking for different creatures, and explore using a map and compass. The day finished with some reflection time, more map work, and a game of Burwell Fox. Although they were happy to be going home, many of the girls said they would really miss Burwell House.
