Students learn about the construction industry at a Learning Lunch

Emma and Harry from Morgan Sindall gave a fascinating talk during a Learning Lunch about the construction industry. Emma is a bid manager who completed an architecture degree, and a masters in construction economics, and Harry is a quantity surveyor who joined the company after a placement year at university and was then sponsored through his final year. He explained the opportunities provided by sandwich placements, which enable university students to potentially gain sponsorship for their final year at university and the security of a job at the end of your degree.

They mentioned their fantastic apprenticeship route into the company which enables people to gain experience in all the different areas of construction (including design management and quantity surveying), all within a 5 year rotational programme, starting with a moderate salary and allowing individuals to reach top career opportunities within the company.
