Student enjoys success in 10th anniversary of national design competition

We are delighted to announce that Isla T., one of our art scholars in Year 10, has been awarded the runner up prize in the Senior Category of the tenth annual CISC (Catholic Independent Schools’ Conference) Christmas Card competition.

This competition is now in its tenth year and attracts entries from schools nationally. The standard of entries across the age range is consistently impressive. This year’s theme was “O Holy Night!” many of our students entered and we are delighted to announce that Isla T. in Year 9 was given the ‘runner up’ prize in the senior category which she will receive over the coming week. Congratulations Isla!

Dr Maureen Glackin, Head of the School of Education, Theology and Leadership at St Mary’s University Twickenham, and one of the judges for CISC said of Isla’s work:

‘Her card was utterly charming and was a humorous but touching representation of the theme and the wonder and awe of that Holy Night.’

Ms Conroy, Head of Art at St Mary's School, Cambridge, said:

‘Isla is a very committed and talent art scholar whose card design was both unique and charming. This year we were so proud of all our students’ creations for this competition we created a special display in the Art Centre Studio 47. Its added a wonderful sense of Christmas cheer to No. 47, our Art Department.’
