St Mary’s shortlisted in four categories at national awards

St Mary’s School in Cambridge is celebrating national award recognition after it was shortlisted in an impressive four categories in the forthcoming, prestigious Independent Schools of the Year 2022 awards.

The highly regarded awards have been running for five years and this year hundreds of schools from around the UK submitted entries across 22 different award categories.

Despite tough competition, St Mary’s School impressed the distinguished panel of judges and has been shortlisted in four categories including: Independent Prep School of the Year; Independent Pre Prep School of the Year; Independent School of the Year for Student Careers Programme; and Independent Girls School of the Year.

St Mary’s Deputy Head, Emma Hall, said:

“To be commended in not just one, but four different categories in such an influential award scheme is an incredible feat. These last couple of years have been challenging for everyone in education – so it is wonderful for the school to be acknowledged in this way. The whole St Mary’s team is overjoyed and looking forward to forthcoming announcements about the next stage of the awards process.”

A list of finalists will be revealed on 7 September 2022. Judges will then meet again to decide the winner of each individual category – with overall winners subsequently announced at an awards ceremony in October.

The Independent Schools of the Year Awards were launched in 2018 to highlight the UK’s best independent schools and celebrate the breadth and diversity of life as a student in the independent education sector. Organised by Independent School Parent Magazine, the awards are chaired by Dr Helen Wright, international education adviser and past Vice Chair of the ISC. Dr Wright is supported by a panel of judges, which includes leading Head Teachers and representatives of professional associations.
