St Mary's Race report - Pairs Head and Bedford Small Boats Head
Encouraged and supported by our inimnitable Head of Rowing, Mr Frazer, this weekend saw St Mary's crews competing in two events.
To kick start the weekend, our top Year 11 double travelled down to London to compete in the Pairs Head along the Tideway. Facing competition from around the country, Eilidh H. and Anna T. (photo) put down an excellent row to finish top in their category and win the WJ16 2x Pennant.
Following on from Saturday’s success, Sunday saw seven crews from Years 10-13 travel to Bedford to take part in the Small Boat Head on the river Ouse. Against a range of opposite from around the Eastern region and London, all our crews had strong races and showed good early season promise for the year ahead, including a win for our Year 10 double.
