St Mary's girls win Under-14 Cambridge Independent Schools Netball tournament!
This week, the school’s U14 Netball team had another successful outing, representing the school at the U14 Cambridge Independent Schools Netball tournament at The Perse School.
Competition was close, as St Mary’s, The Stephen Perse Foundation and The Perse all won 2 out of their 3 games. St Mary’s won against King’s Ely (15-11), The Perse (14-9), but lost to The Stephen Perse Foundation (6-10). The final result was determined by the number of goals won, with St Mary’s coming top!
Director of Sport Louise Powell said,
The girls played so well and improved with every game.
We’d like to congratulate the team and with them every success in the next stage, the County Schools Netball Tournament, on Saturday 13th November.
Following the success of our U14s, our U18 team will also be going to their county tournament on Wednesday 20th October and our U16 team will be playing in the U16 independent schools netball tournament on Thursday 21st October. Our fingers are crossed that they continue this strong start to the netball season!
