St Mary’s fantasy fundraiser enchants Lammas Land

There is no secret that our annual ‘Fun Run’ has become a very welcome tradition at the School. This special event, held every Autumn Term, sees St Mary’s girls from Junior School to Sixth Form raise money to support the vital work undertaken by local, national and international charities.

This year we supported the following charities:

  • Red Hen Project
  • Meseret for Women
  • Teenage Cancer Trust
  • Rowan Cambridge
  • Happy Days Children’s Charity
  • Mary’s Meals

Last year the Great British weather did not play game and our fun run crossed tracks to the indoors! This year the sun shone on Lammas Land and the run proved to be a real showstopper, with students and staff sporting some of the best costumes we have seen yet.

  • This year’s theme of Fantasy meant scope for creativity was high! Runners drew inspiration from many well-loved fantasy characters from fairies, princesses and witches to Shrek, wizards and the Minions – the event was a lively celebration that brought these characters to life.

As in previous years, St Mary’s hosted a 'Pink Morning' ahead of the fun run. Students and staff sported their best pink garms  to support the national ‘Wear It Pink’ campaign. Senior School students gathered for a pink bake sale at break time, with all monies raised going towards Breast Cancer Now.
