St Mary's competes in the City of Cambridge Rowing Club's Christmas Head

On 4 December, St Mary's rowing squads competed in the City of Cambridge Rowing Club's Christmas Head. Beginning downriver from our Boathouse and ending in Stourbridge Common, this 10-minute race provides an excellent opportunity for all levels of rowing at St Mary's, racing not just J1 and J2, but introducing many of our J3 squad to racing. 

Prizes were awarded for Senior categories with 3 or more entries, Junior categories with 2 or more entries, best fancy dress, and best line around Ditton Corner. St Mary's teams not only entered into the festive spirit of the race, but achieved some fantastic times.

Rowing Co-ordinator Stuart Cain said:

'I was super happy with the level of professionalism of all our squads. Along with having a lot of fun, the conduct was outstanding. It was great to see our crews completing their own predetermined racing goals and seeing the hard training starting to be rewarded.'
