St Mary’s celebrates students’ sporting successes this half term
At St Mary’s we encourage all our students to get involved in sport, to enjoy the physical and mental benefits. We have had a half term of impressive achievements, from netball wins to new chances to get involved in sport at St Mary’s. Yet we are equally proud of what our students achieve outside of their regular classes and training. We wanted to take this opportunity to celebrate some of our students’ sporting successes this half term, whether representing the school, or competing independently.
We are delighted to report that keen swimmer Matilda R. in Year 11 has been selected for a National Swimming Camp at Birmingham University and to race in the Commonwealth Games test event.
We are also proud of Anna T. in Year 8, who recently represented the school in the Anglian Schools Cross Country race in St Neots. Anna qualified for the race after competing at the district competition at Netherhall School last month.
Finally, well done to Amelia R. in Year 7, who successfully trialled for the Cambridgeshire Gymnastics County squad. We will be looking forward to her future competitions.
Huge congratulations to Mathilda, Anna and Amelia, and to all our students who have competed this term. We can’t wait to see what you achieve next.
