Sports Award Dinner
Our annual Sports Award Dinner was held on the evening of Thursday 28 April and we were delighted to welcome parents, students, family and friends to celebrate the sporting achievements of the girls, and the staff that coach and teach them throughout the year. Special guests, Clare Cunningham, International Paratriathlete, Serita Solomon, British track and field athlete competing in hurdles, and Amy Smith, British freestyle swimmer who competed with Team GB at the 2012 London Olympics, hosted an insightful and motivational Q&A, and also shared their stories, aspirations, and motivations.
As ever, the evening was the school’s opportunity to formally recognise all of its athletes for their sporting successes ranging from tennis to rowing, and hockey to gymnastics. The awards presented on the night included:
• Most Improved Players
• Most Valuable Players
• Most Dedicated Hockey Goal Keepers
• Top Hockey Goal Scorers
• Star Shooter
• Most Supportive Team Player
• All Round Valuable Team Player
• Sport Scholars
• Games Captain
• Sports Team Captain of the Year
• Exceptional Performance Record Breakers
• All Round Sports Woman
• Year 11 Sports Woman of the Year
• Sports Team of the Year
We are delighted that so many girls are involved in sport at every level and that each girl has a genuine opportunity to get involved in sport. We are extremely proud of all their achievements and the Sports Awards Dinner provides the perfect opportunity to give them the recognition they deserve.
Thank you to all who were able to join us in celebrating the school’s sporting achievements. Special thanks also to the PE department and all others who contribute to the sporting life of our girls – their hard work, dedication and enthusiasm are a real asset to students and the school.
