Speech and Drama showcase is a triumph
The annual Speech and Drama Showcase took place last Wednesday evening with students from Years 7-13 taking part. The audience were treated to a wide variety of poetry, prose, dramatic solos and duologues. The Year 7 students performed their Verse and Prose exam pieces with absolute confidence and commitment, engaging the audience with their energy and enthusiasm. The other year groups enticed the audience with dramatic, comedic and tragic performances. The programme developed through the evening offering classical pieces from Shakespeare, comedies from Noel Coward and challenging modern playwrights such as Caryl Churchill. The evening was very well attended and the audience hugely appreciative of all the performances. Miss Avery was impressed with the calibre of the work performed and congratulated both the students and Mrs Weber, their Speech and Drama teacher, for an enormously entertaining evening!
