Ski trip to Austria
A group of 46 Year 8 and 9 students, accompanied by 7 staff members, traveled by coach to the Austrian Alps for a week of skiing and alpine activities before the Christmas holidays. The students enjoyed five full days of skiing tuition in the Salzburger SportWelt region where there was some fantastic weather and snow for us all to enjoy. They had a great time learning new skills in their skiing and participated in an an action-packed evening activity rota. The students went to an ice-cream parlour one evening, where copious amounts of unusually flavoured ice-cream was consumed, and on another evening the students finished a day of skiing with bum-boarding down the beginners slopes. Much fun was had trying to understand the rules of Austrian bowling and the girls loved cheering on their teams. A visit to Salzburg's Christmas market was magical and really got everyone feeling very festive.
The students enjoyed roaming around the market buying souvenirs and Christmas presents before a trip to a pizzeria. The students had a great week in the snow and all progressed so much with their skiing. Despite some illness on the trip it was a fantastic trip with lots of new experiences.
