Sixth Formers present at Geographical Association Student Meet
Anna, Elena and Hannah presented at the Geographical Association Student Meet at the Perse School on 15 May. Here they tell us about their experience.
The event comprised of a series of nine 8-minute presentations from A-Level students and teachers from across Cambridge, all of which were really fascinating. The ‘Geog Meet’ was a wonderful experience as it enriched our understanding of geography, with relevant and topical subjects ranging from cholera in Haiti, to tensions in the South China Sea. This made us even more enthusiastic about geography as it helped to place our studies within a global context and it was really exciting to see the high calibre presentations and passion of the other students!
For our presentation, we decided to focus on how globalisation has affected British identity, particularly in seaside locations. The presentation provided us with a great opportunity to research a topic that interests us and also we gained valuable presentation and team-working skills.
