Sixth Form ACE Day - Day of Reflection
On Tuesday 30 January the Senior School and Sixth Form hosted an Academic Curriculum Enrichment (ACE) day. The day provides an opportunity to visit different exhibitions, places of interest, and to learn in different environments. Each year group embarked on an activity unique to their studies and year group.
The Sixth Form had a Day of Reflection which focused on ‘looking forward’ and ‘managing change.’ Throughout the day, places, people, beliefs and organisations that provide us with stability were considered, mapped and reviewed. The students initially explored the support already in place at the school, and the areas they would like more focus on. After this discussion, the group moved their focus to managing change: looking at how to manage individual fears and anxiety.
Lay Chaplain, Mrs Kay Dodsworth, spoke to the girls about sustaining good relationships, looking at the motivations of people, their points of view and behaviours. The girls were also given the opportunity to ‘delve deeper' with someone on an Emmaus Walk, a tradition of the Roman Catholic Church since the 1950s.
