Senior School Summer Concert

Congratulations once again to all the musicians who participated in this year's highly accomplished and musically brilliant summer gala concert. The audience were treated to a fantastic array of musical styles, from classical music to musical theatre hits, popular to jazz, all performed by a wide range of musical ensembles. St Mary’s Young Pianist and Young Musician of the Year 2018, Annabelle B., mesmerized us with her beautiful and accomplished performance of the second movement of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor minor K. 466, and, in her final St Mary’s concert, Year 13 Music Scholar, Gigi D., gave an impressive rendition of 'The Wizard and I' from the acclaimed musical ‘Wicked!’. The evening featured performances from all our large-scale ensembles: senior orchestra, training orchestra, concert band, training wind band, Jazzmatazz, Cantore, Allegro and the Year 7 Choir. Other highlights include Year 7 Choir's spirited rendition of Take That's Rule The World and  jazz band's stunning performance of 'Witchcraft' with new vocalist Ava L., fresh from her role as Velma Kelly in the school's production of Chicago (High School Edition) earlier this year, bringing the house down, accompanied by the welcome return of the 'Diamond Geezers'! We congratulate our Music department for another outstanding concert.
