School success in Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme
The school is delighted to have been awarded a certificate commending our high levels of completion rates for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award schemes. The scheme’s target completion rate is 50 percent and we were pleased to receive the news that we have improved on an already positive performance, with a completion rate in 2015/2016 of 65 percent, rising to 72 percent for the 2016/2017 year – these compare favourably to the national rates of accomplishments, which were 44 percent (2015/2016) and 56 percent (2016/2017). We take great pride in receiving recognition by way of a certificate for the level of determination and commitment shown by the students who enrol on the scheme through our school. We currently have eight students working to achieve their Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award in Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth, 33 students working to achieve their Duke of Edinburgh’s Silver Award in Year 11 and 59 students working to achieve their Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze Award in Year 10. We wish them all fun and success in their pursuits in the coming year – and as a reminder to parents of students still finalising elements from this year, please do encourage them to upload assessor reports or to get in touch with Miss Janine Norman, our in-school co-ordinator, if anything still needs checking.
