Psychology conference
A group of 17 Sixth Form Psychology students participated in a Psychology conference in London on Tuesday 22 March. Among the presenters was Dr Philip Zimbardo, Professor Emeritus at Stanford University and one of the best known living Psychologists (due to his notorious Stanford Prison Study), together with Cristina Maslach, Professor of Psychology at the University of California in Berkeley and a renowned authority on burnout (a type of psychological stress). Other speakers included Dr Mark Griffiths, a leading authority on gambling addiction, a topic specified on the A Level syllabus, and Phil Baynard and Cara Flanagan, both authors of Psychology textbooks for our students’ A Level studies. The day was enjoyable and stimulating, offering a unique opportunity for the girls to hear some outstanding scholars.
