Preparing for a fond farewell to our Head of Juniors
Teachers and pupils at St Mary’s School will be bidding a fond farewell to our current Head of Juniors, Mrs Jo Christian, at the end of this academic year.
Mrs Christian joined St Mary’s from Bedford Preparatory School in September 2021. During her time at the school, she has provided outstanding leadership and guidance to our Junior School pupils and forged great relationships with colleagues across our teaching and support staff. Over and above everyday tasks, key highlights from Mrs Christian’s St Mary’s career include assisting in the opening of our new Preschool back in September 2021, and helping oversee the opening of our ground-breaking Yingting Qian STEM Lab in 2022.
Commenting on her time at St Mary’s, Mrs Christian said:
“Working at St Mary’s has been an incredible opportunity. I have learned so much in my time here and I know the school will continue to flourish. I can say with conviction, and through experience, that this is a truly impressive school with outstanding outcomes for its pupils. I am confident that under the leadership of a new Head of Juniors, supported by Headmistress Charlotte Avery, the school will continue to go from strength to strength.”
Charlotte Avery, Headmistress at St Mary’s School, said:
“Jo will be sorely missed at St Mary’s. Her dedication, commitment and passion has been unwavering and the whole school will be sad to see her go. We wish her the very best in her future endeavours.”
St Mary’s is in the process of recruiting a new Head of Juniors and will announce the successful candidate in due course, once an appointment has been made.
