Outdoor classroom extends St Mary’s learning space
St Mary’s has officially opened a new outdoor classroom at its Senior School this week, providing a new learning space for students to be taught amongst nature.
The dedicated area is situated in the spacious grounds of our Senior School and was designed and installed by Pentagon Play - using sustainably sourced materials. Students have been enjoying the new learning environment this week and reaping the wellbeing benefits that being outside brings.
The classroom features benches, a whiteboard and open-air windows. Regardless of the weather, pupils can now study outside in the fresh air and experience an exciting change of learning environment that is suitable for year-round use.
Acting as an extension of our traditional indoor spaces, our immersive outdoor classroom will be hugely beneficial to the learning abilities and wellbeing of our students. We are so excited to make use of this new area and we are sure all of our pupils will enjoy this additional space!
