Our Sixth Form lunch with brand director of high-street fashion brand
The first Ladies who Lunch session for the 2017/2018 academic year took place on Friday 3 November. The Sixth Form girls participate in these sessions to have an opportunity to network with various guest speakers. It is a great opportunity for the girls to listen to successful professionals who give a short presentation or speech on their achievements and their journey to this point, followed by an informal lunch that allows the girls to ask questions.
The lunches are held in Charlotte Avery's study, and we hope to invite female speakers from various walks of life so that the girls can get a broad sense of options available.
Our first visitor was Sarah Welsh, Brand Director of popular high street fashion brand Oasis. Sarah was educated at an all-girls school and went on to study at University College London (UCL). Sarah spoke of her experience over the years as a buyer, how she got to where she is today, and also spoke well of her confident and inspiring female CEO. She was particularly inspirational and interesting for our current Textiles, Art and Business Studies students as they begin thinking about the possibilities in this area. Thanks to Sarah, who is also a parent of one of our students, for taking the time to talk to our students.
