Our Sixth Form had a ball at Westminster College, Cambridge
We were delighted to welcome our 6th Formers to their ball on Thursday 10 May for a spectacular evening in the beautiful surroundings of Westminster College, Cambridge. The highlight of the Sixth Form calendar, the night started with a drinks reception for parents, students, and staff.
Ms Avery kicked off the night with an emotional speech, reminding all the students that ‘once a St Mary’s Girl – always a St Mary’s Girl’ which set the tone for a very special evening.
After a formal dinner in the dining hall Ms Taylor gave the girls some very insightful advice for the next stages in their journey:
“Enter the next chapter of your life with your eyes and mind open to the world. One of the greatest gifts you can give yourself, right here, right now, in this single, solitary, monumental moment in your life– is to decide, without apology, to commit to the JOURNEY, and not to the outcome. One never, EVER knows where their journey will lead them and possibly the worst thing you can do is think that you know with certainty where yours is taking you.”
Head Girl Natasha then reflected on the memories and moments the group had shared, before we ended the night with a disco and a lot of dancing!
