Music teachers take part in charitable music event
Senior School Music teacher Mrs Sonia Gears, Junior School Music Co-ordinator Miss Elise Hickey and Year 5 teacher Miss Agata Wygnanska, have signed up to take part in the Oxford and Cambridge Note Race. Each one a talented musician in her own right, the idea of the Note Race is for musicians to take on the challenge of learning a brand new instrument, up to Grade One level, between Sunday 9 July and Sunday 10 September. On 10 September they will take the Grade One examination and also perform in the Cambridge concert at West Road. A team from Oxford will simultaneously perform in a venue in Oxford, and the challenge will be won by the city that fields the crew with the highest average examination mark .The Cambridge crew is raising much-needed funds for three charities: The Alf Dubs Children’s Fund; Blue Smile; and Home-Start Cambridgeshire.
