Mazzasaurus, the award-winning art installation, is back!

Do you remember St Mary's award winning, hand-painted dino egg which was on display at Cambridge's Grand Arcade 'Jurassic Arcade' back in 2023?

Well, after a slightly longer incubation period than palaeontologists would have eggspected, she has hatched! She is called Mazzasaurus after 'St Mazza's' - the affectionate nickname our students give the school.

Mazzasauras as an egg.                                      And now, as a hatchling.

Once again, our accomplished artists have given our Jurassic relic a custom make-over and she is back in the Grand Arcade, in all her newly hatched and freshly painted glory. She is one of six T-Rex creations by local schools, on display amongst full-sized dinosaurs and baby dinos with their rangers.

You can vote for our cute little T-Rex,(can you call a T-Rex cute?) using her QR code on her plinth, until 23 April at the Jurassic Arcade.

Art students at St Mary's enjoy the bespoke Art and Photography centre, @ 47 Bateman Street, with its exceptional facilities including digital art suite, kiln, printing presses and professional lighting studeo. Enriched learning opportunities are wide ranging and often involve community and charity art initiatives like Cows about Cambridge, Standing Tall and the Jurassic Arcade.
