Lourdes Fundraising Fortnight
From Monday 13 March for two weeks we enjoyed the fun and laughter that represents Lourdes Fundraising Fortnight – where the Senior School and Sixth Form come together to devise different ways to raise funds for the Glanfield Children’s Group. The money goes directly to the children who are cared for at Lourdes, and we support the charity later on in the year when Sixth Form students, alumnae and members of staff make the pilgrimage to Lourdes to care for people there.
There has been a ‘guess the teacher’ quiz with photos of our members of staff as youngsters, a very affordable car wash, cooked breakfast deliveries for staff, a non-uniform day, staff members being sponsored to wear school uniform, and the all-male staff netball tournament. The highlight for many is the annual dog show. It is hilarious to award prizes in the agility, beauty and obedience categories: certificates for the proud owners and rosettes for the dogs. These traditions raise the spirits and especially so as the sun was shining!
