Latin Reading Competition
On Thursday 16 March St Mary’s School, Cambridge took part in the annual Cambridge Classical Association Junior Latin Reading competition. Two of our Year 8 students, Sarah H. and India B., have been training very hard in the lead up to the event and both girls read beautifully.
Our students were up against some fierce competition with 15 other experienced students from other schools also performing fantastically, but this didn’t stop the girls delivering their Latin passage aloud with correct pronunciation and expression and with dramatic flair.
India B. read very well and with excellent emotion to draw out the drama of the piece and Sarah H’s fluent and expressive reading won her second place. Well done to both girls – euge! (hurray!)
